Thank you for the feedback and for helping to rebroadcast the devotional, we truly appreciate your contribution to this vision. Today, we shall be wrapping up our series on “Parenting Dynamics”. Our mission for this series is to see more connected and engaged parents raising talented and exceptional children.
Parenting is teamwork, we need support to achieve the best results. We need the right tools, books, perspectives, information and skills. However, the buck stops with us, we must take responsibility for our children and not leave our parental role to the government of our country or the teachers of our children.
Parenting is teamwork. As a matter of fact, science tells us that each parent donates 23 Chromosomes to their new baby. Hence, even though it may not always seem like it, both parents are fully represented in their child.
This is why I find it hard to comprehend why parents would compete with each other as regards their children’s attention. Let me explain further, I have seen parents who get into intense argument over who the child looks like. This may even spiral down to trying to get each child ‘on their side’ by indulging the child, or inciting him/her against the other parent – a trend that tears down the pillars of family unity. Parenting is the work of a team (T-Together. E-Everyone. A-Achieves. M-More).
Are you robbing your children of their innocence? Are you more concerned about ‘getting’ their love than helping them develop into mature and responsible adults?
