When last did you go on a date with your spouse?
For some spouses, this question sounds awkward because “dating” is no longer in their vocabulary; they are now ‘married’. In other words, they think dating is for singles.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, “dating is a social or romantic appointment or engagement”. As married couples, deliberate efforts must be made to nurture the passion and romance in our marriages.
‘Deliberate effort’, because in marriage, there are other important issues such as work, meeting financial targets, children welfare, in-laws, etc., that place a demand on your time and resources.
When last did you take your spouse out on a date? Do you procrastinate, waiting for the perfect time? A sage once said that “those who wait for perfect conditions never get anything done”.
Start small; create a plan; don’t leave it to chance. Date your spouse again, rediscover each other. This will take your relationship to the next level.
